My Martini Moment

A Classic Dark Rum Mojito

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday on Fast Fashionista!

Cocktail Week continues with a Classic Dark Rum Mojito. This is an easy one to make and great for when you’re craving something refreshing!

what you do:

Add sugar and and squeeze four lime wedges to your glass and muddle. Take your mint leaves in your hand and smack them a few times (this is an old bar tending trick I learned. That way you bring out the fragrance but don’t damage the leaves. You don’t want to be drinking tiny bits of mint.) I always rub the leaves over the rim of the glass, too. Add in your rum, fill with ice, and top with club soda. That’s it! You’re done!

I don’t know about you but i’m ready for Friday!

Enjoy your day!

Cinco de Mayo Margs!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t bring you a margarita recipe today!

As I’ve said in previous posts I love doing custom syrups for my drinks. Even better when fresh herbs are involved! For this drink I made Honey Thyme Syrup:

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup honey

handful of thyme

Simply throw everything in a saucepan and bring to a boil, let simmer for about 5 minutes, turn off heat and let it sit for about 30 minutes.

This is super easy and makes two Margs! Just add everything to an ice filled shaker, shake, and pour into two glasses with salted rims garnished with lime and thyme.

I hope your today is full of Margaritas, tacos, and good company! I’ll also continue to pretend today isn’t a holiday to celebrate a military victory over france. Off to make another marg!

The Southern France Martini

If you know me, then you know I don’t love a Tuesday. Too precarious as I say…

But do you know what makes a Tuesday just a little better? Having a drink like you’re hanging out in Nice, France enjoying the breeze. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite place that we’ve been but the south of France is pretty up there.

For most of my cocktails I love to make a simple syrup that does with it. Doing this, adds so much to a drink.

Pineapple Infused Simple Syrup

1/4 cup Pineapple juice

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup sugar or Stevia

Simply bring everything to a boil and let simmer until all ingredients are combined and sugar is dissolved.

This drink is sweet, fast, and fabulous!

what you do:

Just throw everything in a shaker full of ice and shake, shake! Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a strawberry or pineapple. You’ll want to see the froth on top of the drink. That is from the pineapple.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope your Tuesday is fast and not at all precarious!
