Hideaway Bay Resort

Happy Monday to you all!

A lot of you were very interested in where MK and I went this past weekend, so I decided to do a post about it because we simple had the best experience and I just have to share. As I’ve said before, MK is the master of amazing getaways and Hideaway Bay is no exception. Located in Silver Creek New York, nestled in a cove off of Lake Erie, you’ll find this beautiful beach front resort. There are ten two bedroom luxury cottages and you get to call one your own. Also, no matter where you look there is just the most gorgeous view!

We arrived a before check in and headed to our day bed on the beach for relaxing and lunch. Let’s not forget to mention there is a fabulous bar on the beach as well delicious cocktails.

You guys know I’m a foodie and must talk about that. I had the crab and lobster roll with truffle fries for lunch and let me tell you, it is what dreams are made of. For dinner, fish tacos and again, perfection on a plate (it comes with two I ate one before snapping, oops).

Believe it or not, even though I’m an indoor animal, I love to jump on a kayak (in calm water that is). Mk and I had the absolute best time paddling and floating around.

After that fun, we headed to the onsite sauna (do we want it? Yea, we sure do.) for even more relaxing (see a theme yet?) not only was it a very Zen experience, but there was a huge window with, you guess it, another beautiful view. After that, it was time for the hot tub!

Pro travel tip: if a place has a signature drink. Drink it. This was the Summer Water Froze and let me tell you it was divine!

I think it’s safe to say we will be returning to Hideaway Bay. Trust me when I say it’s worth checking out. We got to relax so much we were ready to return to the chaos if life.

A New Year & Fresh Start

Happy First Tuesday of 2022!

Can you even believe it?

Call it cliché but I always love a fresh start. A new season, a new month, and I (usually) love Mondays. I always look forward to a new year. Now after 2020 and 2021 I feel we enter a new year a little more gingerly.

When the new year starts, I always do a breakdown of what The Fast Fashionista will bring you throughout the year. I like to have a plan and concept before just running a muck. So here it is:

Fashion and Lifestyle

Many moons ago on this blog I would do posts on outfits and their color palettes. This is going to be a big focus on putting outfits together fast and easy with a palette. Hopefully, more home décor content as well.

Perfectly Plated

I have such a passion for cooking and I love sharing that with you. Here, I’m going to learn more about actual plating, give you fast weeknight meals, and of course My usual fancy made easy recipes.

My Martini Moment

Fun and fancy cocktail recipes as always. This has turned into one of my favorite parts of this blog. Not only am I making these recipes easy but I want to build them from liquors that aren’t obscure or hard to find. I started this part of my blog about six or seven years ago when on a Friday, after a stressful work week, I would sit at my bistro set in my dining room and have a dirty martini. I would laugh to myself and think “This is a lovely Martini Moment”.

I’m sentimental about certain things and now this bistro set lives refinished in my bedroom and I thought it was only appropriate to shoot this photo here. I think everyone should know how to whip up a classic Dirty Martini.

what you do:

Grab your favorite martini glass and I throw in my olives first (Feta or Gorgonzola stuffed). Then add in Vermouth. In a shaker with ice add in vodka and brine. Shake, shake, shake! Swirl the Vermouth up into the glass and then add in the shaker goods. If you like it more “dirty” add in more brine.

fun fact: it’s bad luck to garnish your martini with an even number of olives. Do one or three. Five if you’re like, hungry.

Thank you for stopping by!

I’m so excited to share some new fun things with you!

Sparkle and Style

Hey Friends!

We seem to have made it to another Monday. Me? Barely. A stomach bug tried to take my whole house out last week but here I am recovered and here to talk about two very fun topics.

First and most importantly…

Happy Prosecco Week!

One of my most favorite things to drink is this bubbly masterpiece and I’ve partnered with Freixenet Prosecco to bring you some amazing bubbly content. In honor of this fabulous week, I’m bringing you three fast facts about this sparkly sip.

  1. The name “Prosecco” is actually Slovenian and it means “path through the woods” which is the only reason you see this girl in the woods…

  2. The original Bellini recipe called for Prosecco not Champagne (still love you, Champs!).

  3. Most Prosecco is fermented in big steel tanks. This helps with less sediment and also helps with the cost. Along with both of those things the Tank Method is great because its such a clean way to make it that you can really taste the flavors and aromas.

So now you might know a little more than you did about Prosecco and maybe go pick yourself up a bottle or two to spice up this Monday! Might I suggest Freixenet which is always my choice. Like Champagne or Rosé better? They have that too!

Don’t get me wrong I love Summer but come July I start shopping for all things Fall and I start my yearly Fall Fashion post. In all of the almost eight years that I’ve been blogging this is the post I spend the most time on and it’s anything but ..fast.

While I start working on that, I thought I’d bring you two trends that you can rock right now. One of these are most definitely on my Fall Fashion list.

Matching Sets

Bonus points for floral. Head to toe floral was huge this year on the runways for Spring and Summer 2021. I know, I know, “Florals for Spring? Ground breaking.” But this is a great fresh look that I simply love.

A BoyFriend Blazer with a Bra Top

Both a Boyfriend Blazer and Bra Top were a trend for Spring and Summer and will absolutely continue into the Fall. It’s an easy and very chic look. You can throw this outfit together in minutes and look so polished.

I hope your Monday is short and ends with some delicious chilled Prosecco!
