Fast Tips

Before You Go…

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!

So it’s been a minute for me here on Fast Fash. We’ve had one busy September! Contemporary Photography has just been slammed, we took a little trip, and have been non-stop. So when you’re speaking of a very fast life and always feeling like you’re running around like me, today I decided to share with you three fast things I do every single time I leave the house that just make you either more polished or just feel more put together.

  1. IRON!

I know it’s a task we hate but always, always make sure you aren’t wrinkled when you leave the house. Nothing looks more frumpy. To go further on that it’s never a bad idea to pull three shirts you could possibly wear in the future and take 15 and have them ironed when you want to wear them next.

  2. Do a 360 degrees spin.

This is so important because we don’t have eyes in the back of our heads as much as I wish I did sometimes. However, you need to know what the back of your everything looks like. Hair, pants, everything.

  3. Your handbag.

I’m very guilty of letting things pile up in my handbag. Receipts, Starbucks straws ( yes I drink my hot coffee through a straw), toddler toys, toddler snacks, you name it. So every time I leave I take a couple seconds, set it on the island, and clean it out very quickly. It just makes me feel better and when I go to pay for something I don’t have to push all of the garbage out of the way.

Now listen. Go slay this Monday! It’s the last one in September so lets make it count and if nothing else lets just get through it, right?

Have a fabulous day!

Fabulously French

Hey All! Happy Monday!

There’s nothing like an outfit that just works. The one thing that’s very French is keeping things simple. They don’t like to fuss. This look is great for transitioning into Spring, with very little fuss. As a very busy Mom of two outfits like these are imperative for me. Don’t get me wrong I unlike the French don’t mind a little fussing for a date night. But for day to day this is a great ensemble.

Let’s break it down…

  1. Neckerchief: Always a great finishing touch on an outfit. I have several to just throw on to look polished.

  2. Longline Blazer: Literally will go with everything! Especially if it’s a neutral color.

  3. Bodysuit: Everyone should have a stripped bodysuit in their closet. It adds a little interest without pulling the eye too much.

  4. Gloves: Not just for Winter! Spring has some cold mornings and evenings and nothing is more chic than a glove to really pull your look together

5. Culottes: The word itself is French! They are perfect for wearing something other then jeans and also for showing off a good shoe! Which you guys know I’m all about the shoes!

6. Booties: They are the must have Spring shoe. Once again the neutral color is a good option since it will go with so much. In this case they match the blazer.

Like I said when an outfit just works so seamlessly it’s worth the share. There are also so many different versions of this very French vibe. Have fun with it and know you can throw this together very fast and still look put together.

Have a wonderful week! I hope this Monday is good to you!

Indulge.

Salut Friends!

In my first post of the year, I said my Monday or Tuesday posts will be “French Infused”, what I mean is I’m going to immerse myself in the french culture however putting my own spin on it. Because after all, I’m not French and I don’t want to change myself only better myself.

So this is my take on a french lifestyle while still being me.

In all my research I’ve done and the culture I’ve experienced, one thing the French do is find the time to indulge. This is one thing I struggle with. During my days I rarely sit to stop moving. Much to do in a day, you know. But if I have one tip for you, its to take a moment to indulge in something you love and take that minute to yourself. I’ve started doing this and let me tell you I’m a better person, wife, and “Mama” for it.

My two favorite ways in indulge?

If I only have 30 minutes to myself: a glass of wine in my dressing room.

If I have more time: A hot bubble bath.

My friends, take this massive french tip into 2021 and indulge a little.
