Add Some Heat

Hey, hey! Happy Friday Pretties!

Making cocktails is so much more to me than throwing together a drink. I love to play with flavors and see what works and maybe what doesn’t. I had a whole different drink planned for this week but I simply had to share this one. Catching myself craving a spicy watermelon margarita, I knew it just had to be the drink this week.

Let’s start with the syrup. I love to concoct all kinds of different syrups for drinks and this one is pretty amazing.

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/4 cup sugar (or Stevia)

  • 1/2 jalapeño, chopped

  • Sprig of fresh Rosemary

  • A few dashes of Tajin

Simply bring to a boil and let simmer for a few minutes.

Now, get everything you’ll need out:

(I usually use Cointreau for my orange flavored liquor but just ran out so had to use silly Triple Sec)

what you do:

  1. Throw a few pieces of watermelon and jalapeño in a shaker and muddle.

  2. Add ice, booze, lime juice, and simple syrup.

  3. Shake, shake, shake!

  4. Rim the glass with Tajin, garnish with jalapeño and lime.

  5. Fill glass with ice (I had to settle for not cute ice because my very cute ice unexpectedly …melted), and strain into the chosen glass.

    Enjoy your weekend! Cheers!

The Bees Knees

Happy Friday, All!

You may know that I simply love bees. I have them everywhere! My shoes, some bags, so why not put one on my drink?

Since the first day of summer is Tuesday, I thought I’d bring you a perfect and simple summer cocktail.

To make the syrup just bring equal parts honey and water to a boil and let cool. This mixes super well in cold drinks like this one.

what you do:

Simply add everything to a shaker and pour over ice. Garnish with lemon and enjoy!

Have the best weekend & Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!

A Classic Summer Spritz

Happy Friday!

By now you may know that I love a theme. On Wednesday I shared an Epic Lobster Roll to kick off Summer which starts Sunday. So I thought what about a perfect Summer cocktail? I decided to go with an absolute classic. It’s chic, very easy, and perfect for sipping on these hot days!

Aperol is an Italian drink (which is why Prosecco is used) introduced in 1919 and is made of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, along with some other things.

what you do:

All you do if fill a wine glass with ice, add all ingredients, stir well, and garnish with orange wheel and fresh rosemary!

Enjoy this first summer weekend and Happy fathers Day to all the Dads!
