Sassy Slogans & Red Hot Heels

Happy Monday!

Now I know most of you are not a fan of this day however there isn't too much we can do about it so let's make it a good one...with some very strong coffee of course.

There are a few trends that I'm totally loving right now. Graphic sweatshirts and red shoes. Before I go any further, trend or not I'm on board with both of these all the time. But, a lot of times I want to be comfortable or now a days don't have much time to change.

I'm sure you've seen the many, many Instagram accounts with the sassy slogan sweatshirts.  I can't help but love a snappy worded shirt. My favorite Insta account is "Coffee In The Shower" (something I've been known to do as well, haha.) I've followed them forever and have a couple of their sweatshirts. This one is my newest. Who doesn't love champagne for breakfast? I feel like it's an old way of thinking that sweats are only for lounging so here is a way to elevate your slogan sweats so that you can feel free to wear it wherever your feet may take you.

Even though I've got spring fashion on the brain, we've still got a couple more months of winter and what a better way to warm up than with some red hot heels? These fab booties are of course from JustFab and I'm obsessed! It takes your casual look up a couple notches! Add leopard and champagne and you're in business!

It's Monday, we're tired. So here is to hoping that your Monday is good and your coffee (or champagne) is very very strong.

Finally Fall!

It's not a secret blogging as taken a backseat during my pregnancy as I've seriously been too tired to even think. But I do have a few things coming up (like nursery design!) and wanted to of course acknowledge FALL!

Happy Fall Everyone!!!

Has this been the longest September like ever? Yes I believe it has been. How is it not October yet?!?! Even though I've been pretending that it's been Fall since like September 1st I can officially enjoy the décor and thought I would share some with you.

Last year I made this wreath and this year just added some to it. Also, MK and I picked up these lanterns this year and it's so fun to dress them up according to season.

The beauty of a pendant light is being able to throw Fall all over it! Ha!

Ok so since being pregnant getting dressed is basically my least favorite thing. Especially being almost 30 weeks. But I will say putting on a cute outfit and red lips is an immediate mood booster. This Target Kimono from their new collection "A New Day" is a perfect Fall transition piece (link at the bottom).  I'll be honest I'm ready for this boy to be here!

I hope that all of you have the best Fall ever! I know I plan to! Now go get yourself a delicious PSL and a new pair of over the knee boots!

My Time, Design Time

When you hear the word design I feel that there are so many different avenues that you can take. I have always been interested in all areas of design. From home design, to fashion design of course it's always been a big part of my life. Even when buying different pieces of clothing I never take that item for face value. I think "how can I improve or make this better?' And I move on to adding something or sometimes taking away.

Many of you may know my background but for those of you who may be new here, let me give you a quick story of why I have such an interest in design and why I'll continue to. My Mom by trade, is a costume designer and seamstress. Her abilities and talent are amazing. So I grew up watching her make the most beautiful dresses, costumes, and other things along the way. There was never a shortage of feathers, glitter, and all things a little girl would love...and still love. Watching my Mom do what she did make me look at things a different way and come to appreciate design more and more.

I'm always looking to develop and cultivate my own personal way of design and incorporate it into my life to keep the design line alive so that hopefully my kids will down the road also look at things differently and have an appreciation for it.

So let's get down to it. This is my very very busy time of year and I sometimes need to find a creative outlet to relax. With shooting a wedding every weekend, my day job, a baby on the way, and always trying to improve my hair and make up skills, sometimes I need to take a break just for me. That means project time!  I really love to work with my hands so I wanted a project that would allow me to do that. I decided to make a clutch that can be worn with anything. I love love looove a good pattern and am obsessed with pearls. Obviously it had to include those.

Once I sketched out what I wanted to do, I had my concept and it was off to Hobby Lobby I went. After consulting with my Mom I had a pretty good idea of what I was doing. Not only did this project not take very long, being able to use design and be creative was so soothing for me.

So happy Sunday! I wish you a week of new possibilities and creative vibes!
