Wear Your Spring

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Not matter what the season, I’m always happy to welcome a new one. I think Spring always feels like the shortest season because even when it’s still technically Spring the weather starts to feel like pretty quickly like Summer. So what does that means for our Spring wardrobes? For me, it means a lot of pieces don’t get to be worn.

While I was just spring cleaning my closet and going through a lot of things, I decided to not allow my favorite Spring pieces to not get loved. In order to not forget about those outfits, I put some together! I put together four outfits that I plan to wear before it gets too warm for them. Here are just a few pieces I pulled to make sure they got worn. The first was a cape with a feather collar that I’ve had for a long time and never got to wear.

Next up was may Spring coat that my Mom and I made. I’ve talked about this one before but you better believe I’ll wear it as many times as I can before it gets too warm out. It’s great to dress up or down. Perfect to elevate jeans and a white tee.

Then, there was one of my long very lightweight coats that I love but again sometimes I forget I have or the weather isn’t right. The day I wore my green coat it was the perfect amount of chilly out.

p.s. I ironed it. Really couldn’t tell you why it looks not ironed. Life is hard.

Lastly, I have this fabulously soft sweater set that I wore for Easter. You can’t get away with this one if its too toasty out. But believe me, it’s so soft I could have slept in it. Which is exactly what I wanted to do after the Easter food.

Also family pictures are also very hard with a one and three year old.

Pass the wine.

Fabulously French

Hey All! Happy Monday!

Adjustments.jpeg

There’s nothing like an outfit that just works. The one thing that’s very French is keeping things simple. They don’t like to fuss. This look is great for transitioning into Spring, with very little fuss. As a very busy Mom of two outfits like these are imperative for me. Don’t get me wrong I unlike the French don’t mind a little fussing for a date night. But for day to day this is a great ensemble.

Let’s break it down…

  1. Neckerchief: Always a great finishing touch on an outfit. I have several to just throw on to look polished.

  2. Longline Blazer: Literally will go with everything! Especially if it’s a neutral color.

  3. Bodysuit: Everyone should have a stripped bodysuit in their closet. It adds a little interest without pulling the eye too much.

  4. Gloves: Not just for Winter! Spring has some cold mornings and evenings and nothing is more chic than a glove to really pull your look together

5. Culottes: The word itself is French! They are perfect for wearing something other then jeans and also for showing off a good shoe! Which you guys know I’m all about the shoes!

6. Booties: They are the must have Spring shoe. Once again the neutral color is a good option since it will go with so much. In this case they match the blazer.

Like I said when an outfit just works so seamlessly it’s worth the share. There are also so many different versions of this very French vibe. Have fun with it and know you can throw this together very fast and still look put together.

Have a wonderful week! I hope this Monday is good to you!

A Good Scheme

Hello Friends! It’s been a minute!

I’ve had a lot going on lately. Between mothering, recovering from a foot surgery, a trip to Maine, and Contemporary being totally slammed I haven’t had time for much at all.

I don’t know about you but I always love a new month. With a new month especially November it gets more chilly and that means add the layers! Years ago I did a lot of posts on putting outfits together based on a color scheme. I always find when you really don’t know what to put on or “have nothing to wear”, referencing a color palette always brings fresh inspiration. For this look I went with “Pantone’s Classics” for Fall and Winter 2020/2021. I love these colors together and this is probably an outfit I may have not put together.

Also, when it comes to many of my photography clients I’m always discussing a color palette especially for things like family photos when there are more than just a couple people involved.

fast tip:

It helps if you have your closet organized by color that way when looking at the chosen palette you know exactly where to look for the color garment you need.

I hope this new month brings you style, delicious bites, even better drinks, and most importantly…happiness.
